Who is Dan Tyre?
Dan Tyre is the founder and CEO of Tyre Angel, an investment company with the mission of building great leaders and building great companies. He was employee #6 at HubSpot, where he was the first salesperson in 2007. He has helped scale six start ups (two unicorns) over 46 years. He has been the CEO and founder of two fast growing scale ups and is familiar with in the trenches raw scale up execution. He is a dynamic public speaker, author, investor, executive coach, board member, farmer, pilgrim and arctic explorer. He is an adviser for dozens of global companies looking to grow in the modern economy and lectures at multiple universities across the world.
He spent 17+ years at HubSpot (transitioned on January 5, 2024) in a variety of roles, often focusing his considerable knowledge on inbound sales (from the BDR role, to SMB to mid market, enterprise and corporate sales), demand generation and marketing, customer service and operations always with an emphasis on focus and execution.
Dan ran the HubSpot Small Business Division for several years, helped start the HubSpot for StartUps Program in 2010 and was instrumental in the inception of the HubSpot Partner program in 2008. He also worked in HubSpot Academy, and spoke throughout the world more than 100X as an INBOUND fellow.
His experience also includes work with startups including Gipper, Databox, Overflow, Delfina Intelligent Pregnancy Care, Breath-EV, Nivati, Chicory, Qureos and 25+ other portfolio companies at Tyre Angel. He is a limited partner at Stage 2 Capital.
Dan also coined the term "Smarketing'' to describe the necessary alignment between sales and marketing and is frequently inventing goofy words.
Dan sits on three governance boards, supports 5 philanthropic organizations and holds Office Hours 15 X a year to help entrepreneurs, students and community members who are stuck on a hard decision and need an outside view to think through options. He also runs the Tyre Mentorship Program with several hundred participants and coordinates the TMP Community update (live, virtual meeting focused on positivity & personal improvement) four times per year.
In April 2018, Dan published a book via Wiley Business Press with Todd Hockenberry called Inbound Organization: How to Build and Strengthen Your Company’s Future Using Inbound Principles. He regularly shares his entrepreneurial and leadership knowledge through guest appearances on podcasts and as a speaker at global events.
In his local Arizona community, Dan puts pen to paper with his life motto of “always be helping” and spends time advising startups and mentoring executives and young people with ambitions with the Arizona Commerce Authority, the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation via Venture Cafe, and StartUpAZ Galvanize location in Phoenix. He is a mentor for Thought In Action at Colgate University and SeedSpot

He has a BA from Colgate University and is based in Paradise Valley, Arizona, travels 75% of the time and has been married to his beautiful, kind hearted, smart wife Amy Tyre and has two socially responsible children. Dan’s mantra is to” Do The Most Good for the Universe”.
